  1. 1: Some ways that endangered animals are being helped is that scientists are creating artificial systems to help preserve these animals in habitats created specifically for them.

2: These species are important to the human race because "they provide food, fresh water and the raw materials for construction and fuel; they regulate climate and air quality; buffer against natural hazards like floods and storms; maintain soil fertility; and pollinate crops. As well as the fact that these species provide raw ingredients for new medicines and new commercial crops and livestock, including those that are better suited to conditions under a changed climate." As we can see, these species are extremely beneficial to every single part of life for our race and in order to survive, these animals must survive as well.

  2. 1. according to what the article explains scientists re-create an ideal environment for that certain specie to live in and thrive, most importantly reproduce.

    2. saving species is important to humans because of the fact that we can't live without some species, because we need them for certain areas of our lives, for example food is very necessary from animals to humans in order to survive, and certain animals can help create medicine. If multiple species were to go extinct, then that would make the food chain go to whack and disfunction which could cause an overpopulation or underpopulation of certain species, which would ultamitely bring many species towards extinction. this is why saving animals is important to humans and the environment.

  3. 1. Scientists have discovered that there are several species in danger of extinction and action has been taken. The IUNC proposed a 'Red List' which would consist of endangered species in specific environments. This list would help by alerting which species should be taken care of so as to not disturb the existing exnvironment. The United Nations created the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosytem Services which was important as well because it will provide information on endangered species in order to create regulations

    2. Saving these animals is important to both the humans and the environment because research has been done in which it was discovered that most of the percentage of species existing in an environment are necessary in order for that ecosystem to thrive. If these ecosystems were to fail everyone would be greatly affected

  4. 1. What are some ways endangered animals are being helped as stated in the article, and what do they do?

A red list that lists communities of species in one place is currently being created. This will help protect ecosystems and particular species within them. In addition, the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services was created under the United Nations and provides data from around the world regarding legislation affecting biodiversity.

2.Why is saving the animals important to humans and the environment?

Animals help us in a plethora of ways. For instance, insects provide pollination for food crops which feed human and sometimes their livestock. Genetic diversity on the planet allows scientists to investigate new forms of medicine and technology based on interesting characteristics seen in certain species. Plant and animal systems also provide humans with food, water, and construction and fuel materials. They also are signals of air quality, provide buffers against natural disasters, and maintain soil fertility.

  5. 1. Endangered species are being helped by being put on the Red List maintained by the International Union for Conservation of Nature. Although the Red List possibly only contains a small percentage of the realistic number of endangered species, it still helps the species that we do know about by alerting the community about the danger that these species are in and raising public awareness. It is also being proposed that the IUCN create a Red List of specific endangered ecosystems, which could benefit us by awareness raising protection of these ecosystems and the benefits that they have to society. They also created the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services, which will provide the scientific background for international policy negotiations affecting biodiversity.

    2. Different species of animals contribute to the biodiversity of different ecosystems, which in turn determines the inner workings of the ecosystem and will determine its benefits to society, which include things such as raw materials, ingredients for medicinescrop pollination, or maintaining soil fertility, all of which could together have a value of tens of trillions of dollars.

  6. 1.) Endangered species are being helped by the International Union for Conservation of Nature creating a Red List which shows all the endangered species in an area so that human can be more informed and aware of the species in their communities. A second important step that is being taken to help endangered species is the IUCN creating a Red List of endangered ecosystems, which helps by raising awareness of the benefits ecosystems have to society so that people will be more careful in going about keeping them alive. Lastly the IUCN is creating an intergovernmental platform on biodiversity an ecosystem services. This helps to provide the scientific background for international policy negotiations.

2.) Saving the animals is important to humans and the environment because animals help biodiversity to occur in different systems. Without animals and biodiversity systems cannot provide food, fresh water and the raw materials for construction and fuel. These animals are needed as well to help systems work and regulate climate and air quality, and to maintain soil fertility, and pollinate crops.

  7. 1. Endangered species are being supported by being put on lists such as the Red List which is managed and organized by the International Union for Conservation of Nature. Even though the list only accounts for a small percentage of animals, it still allocated funds towards the protection and advancement of these animals as well as gains public awareness of the animals which is a step in the right direction. Another way in which animals are being protected is by the Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services which was created by the UN and it can provide funding for awareness as well as protection of endangered animals.

    2. Biodiversity is the variety of life such as its ecosystems, populations, species and genes. Saving endangered species (plants and animals) from becoming extinct and protecting their wild places is crucial for our health and the future of our children. As species are lost so too are our options for future discovery and advancement. The impacts of biodiversity loss include clearly into fewer new medicines, greater vulnerability to natural disasters and greater effects from global warming.

  8. 1. Some ways endangered animals are being helped as stated in the article are by the International Union for Conservation of Nature and the IUCN creating a Red List. The International Union for Conservation of Nature helps by telling us how many endangered species are living in one area and how humans should be cautions about those endangered species living in their communities. The IUCN creating a Red List helps by telling us the ecosystems are endangered and how humans can help keep it alive.

2.Saving the animals are important to humans and the environment because they are essential to life of different species as well as humans. They are essential because animals play different roles to help us survive.

  9. 1. Endangered species are protected on global conservation laws enforced and legislated by the International Union for Conservation of Nature. They create a red list of endangered species. Species on this list are illegal to hunt or kill maliciously.

    2. While the extinction of species may not immediately harm humans; it does have a cumulative effect. When animals go extinct from non natural causes it can throw the balance of an ecosystem and possible destroy it. This results in a disruption of the earths ecosystem as a whole. Such disruptions can make increasingly difficult to live in.

  10. 1. What are some ways endangered animals are being helped as stated in the article, and what do they do?
Endangered animals are being helped by measures such as being put on a Red List by the International Union for Conservation of Nature. This helps us by telling us how many endangered species are living in one area and how humans should be cautious about protecting those endangered species and their environments. Another measure that has been taken is the creation of the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services, which will provide the scientific background for international policy negotiations affecting biodiversity.

2.Why is saving the animals important to humans and the environment?
Saving the animals is important to humans and the environment because they are essential to life of different species including humans, and the extinction of them will create holes in the food chain which will create devastating damage throughout the rest of the chain, as well as not enough animals to populate the different ecosystems.

  11. 1. What are some ways endangered animals are being helped as stated in the article, and what do they do?
The article stated that ways the endangered animals are being helped is that they are being put on the Red List of the International Union for Conservation of Nature. The laws and regulations that are upheld by the International Union for conservation of Nature allows for endangered species to be protected through no hunting regulations and makes humans aware of where the endangered species are and how many are in a certain area.

2.Why is saving the animals important to humans and the environment?
Saving the animals is important to humans and the environment because the animals are essential in the food chains that are established in the world. If an animal becomes extinct then there will be a gap in the food chain that could have negative repercussions on other animals in the food chain. This would cause a never ending cycle of animals becoming extinct and affecting their predators into becoming extinct and so on.

  12. 1. What are some ways endangered animals are being helped as stated in the article, and what do they do?

Endangered species are being helped by organizations such as the International Union for Conservation of Nature. These organization can put the endangered species on their Red List. The animals on this list are protected from hunting.

2.Why is saving the animals important to humans and the environment?

Saving endangered species maintains biodiversity. If certain animals became extinct, then food chains would be disrupted, and the balance of the environment.

  13. 1. Endangered species are being helped by the creation of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and their creation of the Red List. The Red List says which species are endangered so that humans can be educated on what they need to do to protect these animals, as well as not hunting them. Even though this list may not be exhaustive, it does help preservation efforts.
    2. It is important to protect animals in order to conserve the very fragile balance in the environment. If animals die off, not only will biodiversity be reduced, but this would disrupt the food web, causing devastation throughout the environment, and therefore hurting humans as well.

  14. 1. Organizations such as the International Union for Conservation of Nature have put endangered species on a Red List which lets people know their stats and such to be able to be more cautious and educated. Scientists also re create the ideal environment for such animals to allow them to thrive. Both of these techniques are efforts to help preservation.
    2. We need to protect animals because they all have some sort of benefit for the environment and we must take care of the biodiversity that we have. If ecosystems fail, it affects everyone in and around it. In its most basic from, animals are essential to life.

  15. 1. According to this article, endangered animals are being protected by scientists by them re-creating artificial habitats that the animals can survive in. They are also putting endangered species on the "red list" which let's people know statistics about these animals and how to keep them alive.
    2. Saving animals is important to humans and the environment because they all benefit us or the environment in some way, such as providing nutrients in the food that we produce from them. Without animals, it would be hard for humans to get basic necessary nutrients.

  16. 1. Scientists are helping endangered animals by creating safe habitats that these animals can survive in.

    2. These animals are a source of food for many other animals and if they were to die, the food chain would become messed up. They also regulate the climate and can help scientists create and discover new medicines which will benefit everyone.

  18. 1. What are some ways endangered animals are being helped as stated in the article, and what do they do?
    - Endangered species are obviously brought into the light of the media through the "red list." This helps people appreciate the severity of there potential extinction within the next few centuries. Artificial habitats are also provided to species with a low population (such as panda bears) in order to help them recoup there numbers.

2.Why is saving the animals important to humans and the environment?
    - Animals and plants both help to ensure that the other will survive. When you take away animals, the chain is broken, and unseen loopholes in the ecosystem become a possibility.

  20. 1. Endangered species are being helped by having their plight brought to light, as achieved by the "red list". The education provided by the "red list" and other things like it allows for the populace to become aware of the existence and situations of endangered species, and then hopefully allow them to become active about it.

    2. Saving the animals is important to the environment because animals are a part of the environment, and make up almost the entirety of most food chains/webs. without animals, plant life would soon cease to exist, which would cause the output of O2 into the atmosphere to cease, causing the suffocation of humans. And thus, saving the animals is important to humans, as well as the continued survival of the environment.

  21. 1. What are some ways endangered animals are being helped as stated in the article, and what do they do?
The creation of the Red List in an attempt to protect entire ecosystems by raising awareness of endangered species as well as the creation of the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Service which aims to give scientific background so there can be international negotiation policies for negotiation concerning biodiversity.

    2. It is important to protect these animals because these animals have mostly positive effects on our environment which keeps it going. For example without the protection of insects then there would not be pollination and plants/crops would be affected, ultimately affecting humans.

  22. 1. Endangered animals are being helped through the attempt to compile a Red List of endangered ecosystems which will allow for the protection of a particular species and the benefits we receive from particular ecosystems. The creation of the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services will provide the scientific background for international policy negotiations that can affect biodiversity will help avoid the destruction of ecosystems through government policy.

    2. Saving the animals is important to humans because humans rely on animals for so many things. We use animals as sustenance, they help maintain soil fertility, they are part of a balanced ecosystem needed in order to thrive, they pollinate plants and crops, they provide the genetic diversity that provides the raw ingredients for new medicines, new commercial crops and livestock that are better suited to conditions under a changed climate.

  23. 1) Endangered animals are being helped by identifying them, marking the members of that specie, creating environments where they are more likely to reproduce, and limiting their involvement with potential predators.

    2) Each animal has a unique evolutionary adaptation that can improve the life style of humans, if they die, we lose the ability to incorporate them into our lives and benefit from them
